I got an email from a supervisor in Tanzania last week, encouraging me not to get frustrated as I strive to connect with partners and raise funds for going back to Musoma. She said, "You are an integral part of the translation work that is happening there. Your presence in the Mara Region is as crucial as the translators. No teachers, no families, no work!"
Now, not all of the translators and support workers in Musoma are married with kids. But the fact is, there are several large families in need of education there, and more are on their way. Currently, one teacher is in Musoma orchestrating the co-op school for missionary kids, but with the variety of ages and grade levels present, many parents are still taking time out from their translation and support work to help teach in the school. By adding another teacher to the mix, we hope to get parents back to what they were trained and called to do!
Here are SOME of the families that I will be teaching when I head to Musoma (near Lake Victoria) next March.
The Nicholls... from Australia and the States. Their oldest is ready to join the school crew now! |
The Wimbushes have been in Tanzania for awhile, working in Bible Translation and support work. |
Keith, Christine, Luke, and Nikki. They're headed to Tanzania later this month! |
Ben and Jeannette, with their four precious kids! They're from Holland, MI and are headed to Musoma later this year. |
Will you join me on this journey?
I'm looking for people who are willing to support me monthly through prayer and finances right now while I am on furlough studying AND as I teach the kids of missionaries in Tanzania. It is only by God's grace and your involvement that this work can continue! By partnering financially with me, you are enabling the work of Bible Translation and language development... AND you're allowing families to stay on the field with a reduced education cost for their kids. Even seemingly small monthly amounts make a huge difference!
Teachers, translators, and support staff with my organization rely on financial support from their churches and "partners" both on the field AND during furlough. Due to various circumstances, many of my faithful supporters from the past two years have been unable to continue partnering with me, and I am currently at 20% of the monthly budget I'm expected to have both here in the States and in order to go back to the field.
