Yesterday, I was super-excited. The reason? We had power for 24 hours straight! You got it; we woke up in the morning and went to bed at night, and the WHOLE DAY we had electricity flowing through the walls of the buildings where we live and work.
It was amazing.
It's crazy how quickly we learn to take things for granted. A few weeks ago, I just assumed that I'd have a fan to sleep with at night (oh what a help that is!). Now, I'm just thankful when we have power to go to sleep with. And when the fans in our classrooms are working via generator at all.
It's strange how we can try to rely on the Lord - and don't get me wrong, this is great!!! But the more comfortable we are, and the more that is provided for us and around us, the more we start to believe we can do things ourselves. It's often when we're FORCED to rely on Him because things are so different, because things aren't the way we want them to be, or because we've been shoved out of our comfort zone in every sense of the word... that we grow and cling to Him the most.
